Help children experience and benefit from activities we provide.
Allow the children to explore and be adventurous in safety.
Children Development & Learning
Planning & Assessment
We recognize that a healthy child is a happy child. We all know if a child is healthy and happy they will grow and learn and flourish within their environment.
An important balanced healthy diet is an important part of our settings life.
We recognize that a healthy, balanced diet and regular physical activities are essential for children‛s health and well-being.
We are as flexible as we can in catering for specified dietary requirements and these should be discussed initially when registering.
Children start to learn about the world around them from the moment they are born. The care and education offered by us helps children to continue to do this by providing all of the children with interesting, stimulating and enjoyable activities that are appropriate for their age and stage of development.
We monitor children’s progress through observations of what we see and hear alongside photos which are assessed to see if they are meeting their next steps. Alongside this we build a partnership with parents/carers to ensure each child’s individual needs are met.
The characteristics of effective learning and the prime and specific areas of development are all interconnected.
We use the EYFS as guidance for the appropriate age and development level for each child to set their next steps from observing what children can do to help identify where they may be on their individual development pathway. Next steps are based upon how the individual child can develop, learn and achieve following their interests and play are recorded in their learning journey.
Creating positive relationships and an enabling environment means knowing what we need to provide and reflecting on what we do to allow children to have the opportunity to develop their next steps challenging and extending their current learning and development. We link next steps to a prime area of learning and/or a specific area if appropriate.
